Mother's Day

#momFTW: Sharing the best advice our moms ever gave us

Mother and Daughter with Tulip Flowers

Our moms are our first cheerleaders, role models, and friends. And she probably likes to remind you that she’s full of endless wisdom too…from how to apply nail polish, to cooking, to opening stuck jars, our moms just seem to know how to do it all!

You may not know exactly which flowers she wants to receive this Mother’s Day (check out our handy Mother’s Day gift guide or our tips on how to choose Mother’s Day flowers) but you do know that she wants to steal your ear for a second to share a few pieces of advice. So we asked our #Bouqsfam to tell us the best advice that their moms ever gave them, and the answers were just as enlightening, funny, and inspiring as you would think.

Girl with Peach Flower Bouquet

Mom Advice #1: Always be yourself and don’t worry about what other people think.

This advice comes to use from one of our #Bouqsfam’s grandmothers. Marching to the beat of your own drum is exactly what we’re all about. 👏

Mom Advice #2: Always. Send. Thank You Notes.

“The power of a handwritten note still holds true even in a digital age. My mom sends me thank you notes even when we host a holiday at our house. She’s my mom – she doesn’t owe me a note – but her graciousness is in her DNA.”

You probably still remember the last handwritten note that you received. It seems rare to get one these days, so don’t be shy to send a quick thank you to someone who you’ve been wanting to shout out!

Mom Advice #3: Just keep swimming.

One of our marketing managers shared that her mom always tells her to keep pushing and to never give up.

“My mom always says ‘if they can do it, I can do it too’, and I remember that advice every time I’m getting ready to try something new that seems daunting at first.”

Go mom! 💪

Mom Advice #4: You can’t put yourself in two places at once.

Being a mom means having to juggle a hundred responsibilities at once, so it’s no surprise that one of the best pieces of advice our #Bouqsfam has received is to learn that you can’t do it all, all of the time. Learning to prioritize what’s important is this mom’s key to success 🔑
