July 28th is World Nature Conservation Day and The Bouqs Company would like to celebrate those that work all year-round to serve and protect this beautiful planet! Our farm partners Magic Flowers in Ecuador are an amazing example of this and we’d like to shine a spotlight on their incredible work.
The Magic Flowers’ farm not only provides jobs to the community, but also works to stop the deforestation of the Amazon and protect flower species nearing extinction. We like that, we like that a lot.
The Amazon is a place many of us will never visit. It is beautiful, exotic, remote and intimidating. There are poisonous frogs in the trees, piranhas in the river, mysterious dangers lurking in the unknown. The seemingly endless, dense vegetation is wet, humid, and could possibly swallow a person whole. With this being such a foreign place, it is easy to lose perspective of the important impact the Amazon has on the entire world and climate, especially living so far away and with so many modern day luxuries like cars and air-conditioning here in America.
Figuring out how to help can be challenging! We get it; we are all busy, and it’s not like you are going to sell all your belongings and immediately join Green Peace, or in this instance, start a sustainable flower farm in Ecuador. But there are small ways to be more conscious with your decisions. One such decision? The companies you support.
When you purchase a tropical Bouq (i.e. The Flamingo and Tropical Love), you are supporting the amazing people at Magic Flowers. There are rare flora varieties found in these Bouqs —hel, ginger, banana, musa, etc., and because of deforestation, their very existence is threatened. Magic Flowers is fighting to make sure they are around for future generations to enjoy.
So hey, this may seem biased, but this World Nature Conservation Day, or really any day for that matter, buy a tropical Bouq and help protect the rainforest and the uniquely beautiful flowers that grow there. We all know someone who could use a little vibrancy in their life, and these tropical bouqs will make that person’s day! #MakeItRain.
