Summer is all about having fun in the sun and enjoying everything the warmer months has to offer – like the abundance of national holidays! But of course, one of the biggest occasions of the season has got to be Independence Day, or more commonly known as the 4th of July.

On July 4th, you might notice that lots of Americans choose to come together with a patriotic spirit and backyard barbecues, but if you feel like switching things up and partaking in some of the activities your city has to offer, we are all for that! 4th of July Block Party

Taking place at Grand Park in downtown LA, there’s an annual event featuring live music, food trucks and a light-up fountain to cool off throughout the hot summer night! The 4th of July Block Party is perfect for those who want to celebrate Independence Day surrounded by city lights and tall metropolitan buildings. And we can’t leave out the fireworks that go off right above city hall, ending the night with a bang!

Fireworks in Marina del Rey

What better way to view fireworks in possibly one of the best picturesque spots of LA? Head on over to Burton Chace Park to view some of the most beautiful fireworks by the waterfront, accompanied by synchronized music!

Anime Expo

For all the cartoon and anime fans out there, Anime Expo just might be the best way to spend 4th of July weekend! Taking place in downtown’s Convention Center, enjoy this 4-day event dedicated entirely to those with an interest in Japanese pop culture.

Fireworks in Knott’s Berry Farm

Feel like adding some extra oomf to your Independence Day? Spending the holiday at an amusement park is the perfect way to entertain you and your loved ones! During the day, enjoy some of Knott’s Berry Farm’s thrill-seeking rides and end the night with a spectacular fireworks show.

AmericaFest

Probably one of the oldest annual events that takes place on July 4th is AmericaFest, and there’s no question why. Stop by the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to enjoy live music, motorcycle stunt shows, plenty of food, and craft vendors!
