After being lauded as the one that got away, The Bouqs Co. hooked up with the ever-savvy stars of ABC’s Shark Tank this past Sunday to talk growth, what we’ve learned since our time on the show, and (of course!) flowers.
When The Bouqs Company’s Co-founder and CEO John Tabis dove into the Tank in 2014, we were a new, hungry startup with a deep belief that the flower industry could be better — for the farmer, the customer, and the planet. Since then, we’ve become a bigger fish in the pond, getting attention from Oprah, TIME, and more.
It’s been a wild ride, and it seems like we’re just getting started!
On the show, we got the chance to catch up with the Sharks and talk through our journey, including a tour through our brand-new office space in Marina del Rey — a 5th anniversary present to ourselves and our growing team.
What began as a lean operation working out of a home has blossomed into a team of 60 securing $43 million in funding. And we don’t plan on slowing down any time soon!
Minutes from historic, eclectic Venice Beach, the fresh digs were designed with the same people-first motivation that led Tabis and his co-founder Juan Pablo (“JP”) Montúfar to start The Bouqs Company. Team members and visitors have access to state-of-the-art conference rooms and creative spaces, a custom flower studio, cold brew coffee on tap, beer and wine, and of course a plethora of farm-fresh blooms.

Because of your update on Sharks, I decided to give you a try. I’m so glad I did! The sunflowers are beautiful. Usually hard to find good ones for Valentine’s Day. The ordering process was easy.
