The One that Got Away from Shark Tank

John Tabis and Robert Herjavec

In 2014, our founder and CEO, John Tabis pitched The Bouqs Company’s farm-to-table flowers to the “sharks” on ABC’s Shark Tank, at the time the sharks didn’t bite.

Three years later, Robert Herjavec, was shopping for wedding flowers and shocked by the price. He remembered The Bouqs Company and reached out for help.

“[Tabis] said, ‘Come and see me. I’ll explain the flower business to you.’ [He] draws it out for me, shows me what they’re doing. I’m like, ‘I love it,’” Herjavec said. “So I took part of their last round. We just raised $24 million.”

In addition to becoming an investor, Herjavec loved his wedding flowers, “And most importantly, I saved a ton of money on my flowers for my wedding,” said Herjavec.

To celebrate $100 million in deals made on the show, ABC’s 20/20 is featuring the Shark Tank cast on Friday night’s episode at 10/9c.

Spoiler alert: Best part of the episode is shark Mark Cuban expressing his regret for not doing a deal with The Bouqs Company after seeing our growth over the past few years.

“That’s the one I regret not doing, ‘cause that’s a deal I would’ve loved,” said Cuban.

Hi, I received my first shipment today from a new monthly subscription that I set up for myself. The flowers arrived on time, beautiful and fresh, and safely packaged. Thanks so much for this terrific, lovely service.

My experience for Valentine’s Day was nothing but positive. Very beautiful flowers and arrive on Valentine’s in the morning. With that said, I could not agree with ignoring a disappointed customer request or concern. It doesn’t matter to me how rude a customer may be to me. I will go above and beyond to satisfy a disappointed customer. They are upset for reason. I hope I don’t experience any failure that would result in myself being ignored or not satisfied in the end.

I’ve ordered from Bouqs 4 times now, all gifts. All of them were beautiful, arrived on time & lasted over 2 weeks. I recommend them all the time. I wish someone would send them to me!!!

My experience with Bouqs was the complete opposite. I ordered 2 bouquets, one arrived without incident, the other was a day late. However, the company was more than apologetic and added to the compensation through an account credit. Sometimes a customer’s disposition influences the outcome of an unfortunate situation. If you didn’t receive what you feel to be fair compensation, perhaps you should look at your own actions and how you treated Bouqs. When you are rational, professional, respectful, understanding of human error and circumstances beyond control, a beneficial outcome will occur. I’m not saying that every experience will be perfect and this was your fault, but kindness and understanding goes a long way.

I have never had a bad delivery from this company. They are pricey for sure, but I’d rather pay and get great quality rather than having a bouquet of dead flowers sent to my mother– which has happened plenty of times when I have used 1800Flowers or one of the big services like that. Every one I have sent a Bouqs bouquet to has raved about the quality. I have never had a problem with timing on any of the deliveries. Usually the site tells you when you can expect the flowers to arrive and they have always been very accurate.
