Send Hanukkah Flower Arrangements

Sending Hanukkah flower arrangements is a great way to express your feelings to family and friends. Whether they are throwing a celebratory gathering or just holding quiet family dinners, an arrangement of fresh flowers makes a perfect complement to candles, plants, and other holiday decor. Flowers bring light, kindness, and beauty into any home.

Flowers for Hanukkah

During the Festival of Lights, one candle is lit every night for eight nights in a special candelabra called a menorah. Traditional food includes latkes and jelly donuts. Gifts are given every night over the eight-night period. Cut flower bouquets that last over the weeklong celebration can make for an excellent addition to any Hanukkah festival.

Some great flowers for Hanukkah include lilies, roses, carnations, alstroemeria, and hydrangeas. Blue and white are traditional Hanukkah colors but if you know the family you’re sending to, you can also complement their decorations or favorite colors with a bouquet.

Eight Days of Giving

Different families might have slightly different traditions for the eight days of giving. Some families may switch the order or make substitutions depending on how close to religious traditions the family is. In general, this is a good outline for gift giving:

  • Day 1: Traditional Jewish Gifts - Dreidel, coins (or chocolate coins!), or traditional family-specific gifts.

  • Day 2: Books - books make great gifts for adults and children.

  • Day 3: Puzzles and Games - You can opt for classics and play games as a family or for teenagers, this is the night to gift them that new Xbox or Playstation.

  • Day 4: Gifts for the Family - these can be gifts that include the whole family, like a night out on the town or a dinner or a Groupon that everyone will enjoy or include a gift that is given to the whole family.

  • Day 5: Pajama Night - this can be a literal gift of new pajamas, expand out to include clothes such as a new winter jacket, or be taken more metaphorically and include themes like light and security.

  • Day 6: Giving to Others - this is a traditional night of charity. You could set aside a donation to make to a favorite charity or organization and use it as a moment to help teach the children about community, a value we cherish greatly at The Bouqs.

  • Day 7: Handmade Gifts - this is a great day for the crafty or artistic. Give a personalized gift that was handmade. Of course, if you aren’t crafty you can modify this. This is a great day to send a bouquet to any flower lovers or green thumbs!

  • Day 8: Favorite Items - Gather some favorite items of the person, your children, other relatives, friends, and let them know how much you care. You can give your kids that one present they’ve been waiting for all year or give an adult a box of their favorite things. Maybe send some Hanukkah flowers to your spouse or parents!
