Those who love flowers are often on the lookout for something extra special and totally unique. The only problem with seeking out rarity is that it often comes with a substantial price tag. As with anything else, the more scarce a flower is, the more it costs. In fact, there are a few flowers in the world that probably cost more than you ever dreamed flowers could.
With that in mind, we thought it would be fun to explore the most expensive flowers in the world and also take a look at some more budget-friendly, yet equally stunning, floral options from our very own online shop.
Kadupul Flower
Price: priceless
This is one bloom that you will likely never see in a floral bouquet. It’s often listed as one of the most expensive flowers in the world (if not the most expensive flower) due to the fact that it doesn’t survive long enough to even be picked. The Kadupul flower grows on a cactus and only blooms at night. By morning it is gone. It’s said to be very fragrant and is obviously very beautiful, but its beauty is too fleeting to possess.

If you love that desert look but don’t want to creep out in the dead of night in some remote location, you might consider a bundle of blooms that incorporates some succulents. Succulents have a laid-back, unexpected elegance that really sets an arrangement apart. Even better, they can often be replanted so that you can keep them around for years to come.
Juliet Rose
Price: $5 million
Juliet is a legendary beauty, and now she has a flower namesake that is just as revered. The Juliet Rose first hit the floral stage at the 2006 Chelsea Flower Show. The flower’s launch was a long time in the making as its creator, David Austin, worked for 15 years to develop this spectacular bloom. With its delicate yet elaborately placed petals and soft blush tones, the Juliet rose is a stunner, but definitely is not for those looking for cheap flowers.

Not all roses come with as hefty a price tag as the Juliet rose. You can find absolutely stunning (and quite similar looking) garden roses at a much lower price point.
Shenzhen Nongke Orchid
Price: $200,000
Scientists spent eight years developing this precious bloom, and it’s been highly esteemed ever since. This type of orchid only blooms every 4 or 5 years, which somewhat accounts for its substantial price.
Bouqs Back-Up
Orchids of all types are exotically gorgeous. Each variety has its own unique style, but all are distinctively from the orchid family. If you adore the look of orchids, there are plenty of reasonably priced ones to choose from.
Gold of Kinabalu Orchid
Price: $6,000
With its long, red-dotted petals, the Gold of Kinabalu Orchid truly has a style all its own. It grows exclusively in Malaysia’s Kinabalu National Park. As the flower only grows after years of cultivation, the booms are rare and have a price tag to match.
Bouqs Back-Up
As mentioned, the look of the Gold of Kinabalu is quite unique. As such, you’ll probably have to find a different exotic stunner to bring home. Luckily, there are tons of other tropical beauties to choose from, and each has its own stand-out look.
Saffron Crocus
Price: $1,200-1,500
Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world, and it comes from, not the most expensive flower, but one that’s certainly up there. The Saffron Crocus is a lovely purple flower with a yellow stamen. Amazingly, around 80,000 of these flowers are used to get 500 grams of saffron spice.
Bouqs Back-Up
Tulips come in a wide range of colors and sizes, and some have a very similar look to crocuses. While you probably won’t find an exact match to the Saffron Crocus, you may find something you love even more, and for a much better price.
